Statements about plans to build 50 new passenger aircraft in Russia in the next two years seem like wishful thinking. This was stated by Viktor Gorbachev, a member of the public council at the Federal Air Transport Agency (FAVT).
According to him, one should count on a maximum of 10 aircraft in 2026.
We have huge plans, but they still need to be implemented. Until now, we have been dreaming: four years ago, three years ago, the industry promised us the start of mass production, and they are still promising. As the president says, "everything is shifting to the right."
Gorbachev added that the stated plans do not correspond at all with the real state of affairs in aircraft construction. He recalled that even the engines are not ready for the aircraft.
Each aircraft needs two, plus two more in reserve, which means four. Consequently, we must replace 300 engines and multiply another 300 by four. Will the industry give us 1200 engines? At least, they have not stated this publicly anywhere.
Earlier, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov stated that the Comprehensive Program for the Development of the Aviation Industry (KPIA) until 2030 in Russia will be revised after the certification of SJ-100, MC-21-310 and Il-114-300.
The founder of the flight safety and certification service RunAvia, Andrey Patrakov, also stated to "The First Technical" that the plans enshrined in the KPIA are impossible to implement.
