American Vantor satellite captured a record accumulation of Su-57s at the Dzyomgi airbase

The fifth-generation fighters were accompanied by 18 Su-35S 4++ generation aircraft and three MiG-31BM interceptors

A large group of Russian Aerospace Forces fighters has been recorded at the Dzyomgi airbase near Komsomolsk-on-Amur: satellite images from February 9, 2026, showed 15 fifth-generation Su-57 fighters, 18 Su-35S 4++ generation aircraft, and three MiG-31BM interceptors. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Military Chronicle" with reference to an analysis of images obtained by American Vantor satellites.

Such a concentration of equipment at the airfield, combined with the production facilities of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Yuri Gagarin (KnAAZ), indicates preparations for the transfer of the latest aircraft to the operational units of the Aerospace Forces. It was previously reported that the Ministry of Defense received from KnAAZ a batch of Su-57s in an updated technical configuration with advanced onboard systems and weapons complex.

The Dzyomgi airfield traditionally serves as a site for the first flights of prototypes and the transfer of serial equipment to the customer. The location of the base in close proximity to the aircraft factory allows for prompt pre-flight preparation, testing, and the formation of aviation groups before redeployment to permanent deployment points.

It should be noted that the Su-57s, which were put into service in 2020, continue to enter the troops under a contract for 76 aircraft. At the same time, squadrons are being re-equipped with Su-35Ss to replace the outdated Su-27SMs, and the modernized MiG-31BMs retain a key role in the air defense system of the Far East.
