Tatarstan Airline Renounces Tu-214 and Focuses on Il-114-300 and Superjets

"UVT Aero" Lost Hope of Receiving Aircraft from Kazan Aviation Plant

The Russian airline from Tatarstan, UVT Aero, is no longer considering the Tu-214 produced by the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ, part of the Rostec United Aircraft Corporation) as an option for updating its fleet. This was announced by the airline's CEO, Petr Trubaev.

Now, UVT Aero intends to focus on purchasing nine Il-114-300 turboprops and five medium-range SJ-100s, in addition to its existing seven Bombardier CRJ200s.

We try to be optimistic, the main thing is to launch the production process.
Petr Trubaev, CEO of UVT Aero

Trubaev noted that the company is in direct contact with the chief designer of the aircraft, Mikhail Alekseev, and with the managing director of PJSC Ilyushin, Daniil Brenerman. At the same time, the terms of delivery are being worked out with UAC and the State Transport Leasing Company.

They do not suit us yet. We have made our proposals, and they have been heard.
Petr Trubaev, CEO of UVT Aero

It was previously reported that UVT Aero, through Tatneft, ordered four Tu-214 aircraft from KAZ. They were planned to be received in October 2024, and the second pair in September 2025, but KAZ did not deliver the aircraft, after which a lawsuit was filed against the plant.
