The United Aircraft Corporation will build over 600 aircraft for Russia's air fleet by 2030. This became known after the government ordered 865.6 billion rubles to be allocated for the creation of civilian aircraft by 2030.
According to data provided by the Rostec Group, which includes UAC, they will jointly build twelve long-range Il-96-300s by this time. These aircraft can carry up to three hundred passengers and fly distances of over six thousand kilometers.
The deeply modernized version of the Il-96-300 - Il-96-400M - is still in the process of being worked on, and is not included in the plans for 2030. The most important difference from the Il-96-300 is its ability to perform transcontinental flights.
Slightly more Il-96-300s than Il-114-300s are planned to be assembled. These regional airliners are designed to carry up to 68 passengers and fly distances from 500 to 1,500 kilometers. There will be 70 of them. But full certification of the aircraft and its serial production has not yet occurred.
Due to the crash in August 2021 of an experienced prototype of the Il-112V light military transport aircraft in Kubinka, which had the same engine as the future civilian Il-114-30, the Ministry of Transport initiated a postponement of aircraft deliveries to 2026 - they were supposed to begin as early as 2024. Over two years, they hope to replace the TV7-117ST developed by ODK-Klimov with a new engine, conduct new flight tests and pass certification.
The need for medium-range airliners will also be covered. They can fly distances from 2 to 6 thousand kilometers. There are two aircraft in this category. These are the MS-21-310 - there will be 270 of them. The first modernized airliners are highly anticipated by air carriers this year, but the Ministry of Industry and Trade does not rule out delays in their market launch, as well as other import-independent versions of aircraft.
The second medium-range airliner is the Tu-214. 115 aircraft that can carry up to 210 passengers will be assembled.
The management of Tupolev PJSC, which is part of UAC, announced at the end of 2023 that new workshops with a production line similar to an automobile assembly line are already being laid down and built in Kazan for domestic airliners. It also became known that the Tu-214 will have cargo, short and two-member versions. However, Tupolev PJSC admits that there are difficulties with accelerating construction, since the Kazan Aviation Plant "made an average of one and a half Tu-214s per year, and now the task is to grow by an order of magnitude".
It is planned to assemble 142 new import-independent modernized SJ-100s from UAC and Rostec by 2030. The first flights, certification of all import-substituted systems and the PD-8 propulsion system as part of the aircraft, and even the first deliveries of import-independent serial SJ-100s for Aeroflot were expected by the end of 2023. However, the process was slightly delayed and this did not happen. Currently, aircraft tests are actively underway, and the first copies of the aircraft should begin passenger transportation by the end of 2024.
The SJ-100 carries up to 103 passengers and belongs to short-haul aircraft. That is, it is capable of making flights from one thousand to two and a half thousand kilometers.
Regional aviation will also be developed, designed for transportation over distances from five hundred to one and a half thousand kilometers and for a small number of passengers - less than 50 people.
Thus, 178 L-410s will be produced at the UZGA aircraft factory. These regional aircraft can carry 44 passengers.
Due to sanctions, the production of the L-410 was frozen in 2022 - as it was a localization of Czech regional aircraft. But later UZGA announced the creation of a new aircraft to replace the L-410 with a capacity of 19 passengers. By 2026, the development was planned to be certified and handed over to customers, work on the project was discussed in partnership between Russia and Belarus.
LMS-901 "Baikal" - also produced by UZGA - will have 154 copies built by this time. They carry up to nine passengers and are also designed for regional small transportation. This is a replacement for the An-2 " кукурузникам".
The TVRS-44 "Ladoga" from UZGA, like the L-410, will carry 44 passengers. Slightly fewer of them will be built by 2030 - 140 pieces. But first, the aircraft and its parts will have to undergo certification: the development is completely new for Russia.
