The Russian Ministry of Defense has revealed how the latest Supercam UAVs from the Rostec subsidiary Unmanned Systems work.
Under the Supercam brand, it produces more than ten civilian drones. It is not mentioned which of them is similar in characteristics to the manufacturer's military drone. But there is still some information about it.
Supercams have several versions. The first of them, the kamikaze drone, was presented publicly at the end of 2023. The version in question is a reconnaissance drone that has been tested in various conditions, including combat, for about three months.
Reconnaissance drones of this type are resistant to electronic warfare equipment and can return to base even if they are suppressed and have not completed the task. It is also noted that they are easy to launch and control, hold altitude and camera - conduct reconnaissance, providing high-quality images and data on the location of a conditional or real enemy. Even at night - they can work in the infrared range. Among the characteristics is the noiselessness of the drone.
Another drone of this series is being created in the Rostec circuit - both as a reconnaissance drone and as a kamikaze drone.
In addition, the civilian Supercam 350 has already become the basis for development by another manufacturer - the Kalashnikov concern. On its basis, the SKAT 350 M drone was created, which is designed for aerial reconnaissance, searching for enemy objects in the optical and infrared ranges.
It differs from Supercam in its new wing design, a different battery controller, and the characteristics of the day and thermal imaging cameras.
