Заслуженный лётчик раскритиковал переоснащение Superjet двигателями ПД-8: нужно строить новый самолёт

Придётся заново разработать всю силовую и несущую схему лайнера

Re-engining the Superjet-100 with domestic PD-8 engines instead of foreign SaM146 engines seems to be a completely unprofitable undertaking, as the aircraft will have to be completely redesigned. This opinion was expressed in an interview with "The First Technical" by Honored Test Pilot, Hero of Russia Alexander Garnaev.

According to him, the experimental design work will affect the power component of the airframe and the supporting structure of the aircraft.

To re-engine the Superjets with PD-8, it is necessary, no more and no less, to simply re-develop and make the entire power and supporting structure in full.

The specialist noted that after the work, the aircraft with PD-8 will have to undergo a full cycle of certification tests, as a completely new aircraft.

This is what you need to proceed from in order to imagine the scope of technological and production problems of the possible Superjet re-engining program.

Aviation expert Andrei Velichko explained to "The First Technical" that re-engining the Superjet with PD-8 is possible, but everything comes down to the issue of funding the work.

Main technical characteristics of PD-8:

  • Overall pressure ratio — 28
  • Thrust — 8,056 kgf (at maximum take-off mode)
  • Specific fuel consumption — 0.61 kg/kgf·h (in cruising mode)
  • Length (with mixer) — 3,589 mm
  • Fan diameter — 1,228 mm

It will also be necessary to significantly increase the production of PD-8 engines, which are also intended for both import-substituted SJ-100s and Be-200 amphibians. In addition, these power plants were also planned to be installed on business jets based on the revived Tu-324.
