The new Russian medium-range airliner MC-21-310 has significant commercial potential and is absolutely competitive in the market. This was stated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The Ministry noted that in the context of sanctions restrictions, the main task is to ensure domestic demand for import-substituted aviation equipment.
Serial liners are already being assembled in the workshops of the Komsomolsk and Irkutsk aviation plants, which will be handed over to operators after the completion of all certification tests and approval of the results of these tests by Rosaviatsiya.
Rostec noted that about 15 thousand enterprises of different levels (120 first-tier suppliers, 4000 second-tier suppliers, more than 10,000 third-tier suppliers) are participating in the production cooperation for the MC-21 serial production program. In total, about 50 thousand employees are working on the project.
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov stated to «Первому техническому», that the MC-21-310 has the potential to be sold abroad, but it still needs to be clarified during operation.
