The new Russian medium-range airliner MC-21-310 has significant commercial potential and is absolutely competitive in the market. This was stated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The department noted that in the context of sanctions restrictions, the main task is to meet domestic demand for import-substituted aviation equipment.
Serial airliners are already being assembled in the workshops of the Komsomolsk and Irkutsk aviation plants, which will be handed over to operators after the completion of all certification tests and approval of the results of these tests by Rosaviatsiya.
Rostec noted that about 15 thousand enterprises of different levels (120 first-level suppliers, 4000 second-level suppliers, more than 10,000 third-level suppliers) participate in the production cooperation for the MC-21 serial production program. In total, about 50 thousand employees are working on the project.
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov stated to «Первому техническому», that the MC-21-310 has the potential to be sold abroad, but it still needs to be clarified during operation.
