"Moskvich" Denies Reports of Terminating Cooperation with JAC

The plant stated that the information about the termination of purchases for models 6 and 8 is not true

The "Moskvich" car plant has officially denied reports of the termination of deliveries of "Moskvich 6" and "Moskvich 8" models to dealerships. The reason for the clarification was a material from the "Drom" portal, which claimed that there were no more "Moskvich 8" crossovers available in Moscow car dealerships due to a reduction in cooperation with the Chinese company JAC, which is the donor of the brand's models.

Nevertheless, dealers confirm that deliveries of "Moskvich 6" are expected, while the appearance of new batches of "Moskvich 8" raises questions. According to industry sources, a small batch of "Moskvich 8" crossovers was delivered to the structures of the Moscow Government.

The "Moskvich 8" crossover was introduced in the summer of 2023 and is the brand's largest car. It is based on the Chinese JAC X8 Plus and is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 174 hp and a 7-speed robotic gearbox. With a length of 4825 mm and a wheelbase of 2830 mm, the car is comparable in size to the Hyundai Santa Fe and Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max.

According to analytical agencies, only 35 "Moskvich 8" units were registered in Russia from the start of sales until the end of 2023. At the same time, the model remains in the company's lineup, and the car plant announces the continuation of production.
