The Il-114-300 regional turboprop aircraft has made its first flight outside of Russia. As part of the Wings India international air show, the aircraft departed from Begumpet Airport.
The Il-114-300 spent more than an hour in the air, flying to the city of Chennai, located 650 km from the city of Hyderabad, and back, after which it landed.
The aircraft covered more than 500 km at speeds up to 425 km/h. The website of the United Aircraft Corporation states that the cruising speed for the Il-114-300 is 450 km/h.
Apparently, the crew was tasked with performing a flight comparable in parameters to a regional flight.
As a reminder, the Il-114-300 is a modernized version of the Il-114 turboprop aircraft, and the aircraft will replace the outdated An-24, as well as the foreign Bombardier Dash 8 and ATR 72.
Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Gennady Abramenkov noted that the Il-114-300 is completely independent of supplies from other countries. The plane has already completed the basic test program in Russia.
