During the tests of the new import-substituted SJ-100 "Superjet" aircraft, the pilots turned off the PD-8 engines. Vadim Shirokikh, Head of the Flight Test Complex of the "Regional Aircraft" branch of PJSC "Yakovlev" (part of the United Aircraft Corporation), explained the essence of this experiment.
According to him, civilian pilots are trained to start the engine in the air on a simulator, and they should, in principle, perform all these actions.
We обязательно проходят испытания, и на этом самолёте too will be tested, turning off the engine on takeoff. And we perform a continued takeoff. Despite the fact that civilian pilots also go through training on a simulator, but here special training is required from the point of view of clear accuracy of execution mode.
Shirokikh emphasized that such a special complex special situation is also being introduced specifically, because it is necessary to withstand all the parameters and prove that the aircraft is safe and can be allowed to operate.
Moreover, this is done both in normal conditions at sea level, and in high-altitude conditions or in high-temperature conditions, where the engine thrust is significantly lower due to the fact that either the air is rarefied or the temperature is high.
Earlier www1.ru reported that MS-21 will cost airlines less than Western aircraft.
