The company "Russkoe elektrotekhnicheskoe obshchestvo" (REO) is completing factory functional tests of the MUSS-1033 lubrication system control system intended for the Project 21900M2 icebreaker. The equipment is being prepared for handover to the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
The MUSS-1033 system controls the lubrication operation of the upper and lower gearboxes of the AT65E azimuth thruster steering column. The complex includes a control cabinet with uninterruptible power supply and a frequency converter. The automated system monitors the operating modes of the pump units, cooling of the working fluid, electric valve drives, and preliminary oil heating without operator involvement.
The azimuth thruster steering column set for Project 21900M2 is being manufactured by the Propulsion Systems Center of TsS "Zvezdochka", while the basic lubrication system is supplied by NPP "Orion".
The Project 21900M2 icebreaker, 119.8 meters long, is assigned to the Icebreaker7 ice class. A power plant with an output of 18 MW allows the vessel to continuously pass through a solid ice field up to 1.5 meters thick. Maximum speed in clear water is 17 knots, and endurance is 40 days.
A high degree of automation (designation AUT1-ICS) will make it possible to reduce the crew to 35 people. The integrated control system will ensure the vessel's operation without the constant presence of personnel in the engine spaces. A helicopter landing pad for receiving heavy helicopters of the Ka-32 type and up to 33 containers, including 12 refrigerated ones, is located on the upper deck.
The vessel is intended for independent icebreaking escort, towing large-tonnage ships, ice reconnaissance, and search-and-rescue operations using unmanned aerial systems.
