At the upcoming international exhibition World Defense Show 2026 in Saudi Arabia, a new Russian multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), the "Sarma," will be presented. Footage of the new system has already been shown on social media.
A photo report on the delivery of exhibits showed images of a four-axle all-terrain vehicle with an armored cab and a launcher under a tarpaulin.
The Telegram channel "Russkoe oruzhie" identified the vehicle as the "Sarma" MLRS, built by Motovilikhinskie zavody on the basis of the artillery component of the "Tornado-S".
Let us recall that the "Sarma" was built on the highly mobile KamAZ-63501 chassis and equipped with six launch rails for the use of 300-mm munitions.
In addition, engineers reinforced the cab and increased the level of ballistic protection against fragments and shrapnel. The launch rails were adapted for the full range of 300-mm rockets of the "Smerch" family with a range of up to 90 kilometers and guided "Tornado-S" munitions with a range of up to 120–130 kilometers.
The developers also provided for the installation of a modular launch package with additional protection and a package reloading system.
