Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ, part of Rostec's United Aircraft Corporation) needs to strive for the level of after-sales service of global leaders such as Boeing and Airbus. This opinion was expressed by Andrey Zhukovsky, Associate Professor at the Department of Strategic and Innovative Development of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
According to him, the Tu-214 should become as mass-produced an aircraft as the Tu-134 and Tu-154, which flew even to the most remote cities of the USSR and foreign countries.
Here, it is necessary to reach industrial scale as soon as possible and provide timely after-sales service along with prompt technical support, which currently lags far behind global leaders like Boeing and Airbus.
Zhukovsky named the lack of personnel, the un налаженная cooperation of component suppliers in the necessary for industrial scale production, and the lack of sufficient production capacity as the most difficult challenges for KAZ in the production of Tu-214.
However, as we can see, all these issues are gradually, albeit not immediately, being resolved, and there is cautious optimism for the future.
Executive Director of the AviaPort agency, aviation expert Oleg Panteleev, stated to «Первому техническому» that the production of Tu-214 makes sense to resume until the MS-21-310 reaches the required flight range.
