Russian engineers, during the development of the SJ-100 airliner, made certain design decisions to maintain maximum compatibility of the SSJ-100 and SJ-100 airframe's power structure, including the pylon and engine mounting points. This was announced by Alexander Dolotovsky, Deputy General Director of PJSC "Yakovlev", Director of the "Superjet" program.
According to him, the aircraft was effectively unified in terms of the engine mounting points.
That is, we remove the SaM146 and install the PD-8. This was done, among other things, to reduce the number of structural changes in the airframe's power structure and reduce the amount of testing for strength and service life. Nevertheless, we are still conducting such tests.
The top manager reported that simultaneously with the flight tests, the installation of the interior trim of the passenger cabin began on the fully import-substituted SJ-100. Experts aim to ensure that passengers do not feel any difference compared to the cabin of the classic SSJ-100.
The first flight with PD-8 engines took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur last week. The plane was in the air for about 40 minutes, reaching an altitude of up to 3,000 m and a speed of 500 km/h.
