«Не надо говорить, что у нас плохие самолёты». Лётчик оценил сокращение дальности МС-21

Previously, it was assumed that the aircraft would fly 5 thousand km, now — a quarter less

United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec Group) changed the range of the newest MC-21 civil aircraft — from 5100 kilometers to 3830 kilometers. Military pilot and retired Major General Vladimir Popov called not to consider such a measure a verdict for the aircraft.

He explained that UAC determined the guaranteed distance that this aircraft can cover. It is no coincidence that it is less than those indicators that the designers previously laid down in the future aircraft.

If you load the aircraft with passengers and cargo, conditionally speaking, within 30-50%, take the maximum amount of fuel, then the aircraft will be able to quite reach up to 5 thousand kilometers.

Popov emphasized that this does not mean that domestic developments are worse. Developers, on the contrary, place increased requirements on systems and components. This is the difference in approaches between Western and our designers.

We have such tolerances that the metal wall should be thicker and the strength should be higher. Designers usually lay down a force of 5-7 times, or even 10 times. Therefore, we get some structures or aircraft in general heavier. This must be known and not say that we have bad planes or we don’t know how to do something. The ideology of the approach is different. And the schools are engineering, technological — different for us.

Let us remind you that at the end of October, the second experimental MC-21-310 aircraft in a import-substituted version took to the sky, but without replacing five important systems. Employees of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant worked around the clock to get the second test aircraft into the sky as quickly as possible.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the toilet of a strategic bomber was shown in the photo for the first time.
