The PD-35 technology demonstrator engine has entered the second stage of testing. Domestic turbine and compressor parts are being tested on the power plant.
The Kremlin press service clarified that more than 50 launches of the PD-35 have been carried out in total, and when reaching the take-off mode, it was possible to achieve a thrust of more than 35 tons.
Currently, the PD-35 DDT is undergoing the second stage of testing - parts of compressors and turbines made of the latest domestic materials are being tested.
The materials also state that the technologies used in the development of the PD-35 will form the basis for creating a family of high-power turbojet engines.
PD-35 is the basic engine of a promising family of turbojet bypass engines in the thrust range from 24 to 38 tons. The developer of the unit is ODK-Aviadvigatel, the manufacturer is ODK-Perm Motors. There is currently no aircraft for the power unit.
