On the new Russian MC-21 and SJ-100 aircraft, engineers have implemented additional protection for the cockpit from unauthorized entry. This was announced by the Rostec State Corporation.
The company noted that the installation of an additional barrier to the cockpit is possible in domestic aircraft, but other effective security solutions have been implemented on Russian aircraft, including the MC-21 and SJ-100.
However, there are significant disadvantages to installing such partitions - extra weight of the aircraft, an additional obstacle during emergency evacuation, as well as additional inconvenience to the crew when serving passengers.
Other effective security solutions have been implemented on Russian aircraft, including the MC-21 and SJ-100. These include, for example, an armored door and partitions that prevent penetration into the cockpit from the cabin and provide protection against firearms.
The state corporation added that the aircraft are also equipped with a video surveillance system that allows monitoring, including the entrance to the cockpit in online mode.
The decision to install an additional partition is at the level of the aviation authorities. If such a decision is made, a barrier can be technically installed on the aircraft.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Il-114-300 will increase resource and reliability thanks to new developments.
