Getting Closer to Launch: Soyuz-5 Being Prepared for Delivery to Baikonur

The rocket launch is planned for December, but the exact date will be announced later

The Soyuz-5 carrier rocket will be delivered to Kazakhstan in late October - early November 2025. This was announced by Malik Olzhabekov, Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan.

I think it (the launch) will be in the 20s of December. We expect the carrier rocket to arrive in late October - early November. Work on testing will begin together with the rocket in the complex. If everything goes successfully, we will be ready to announce the launch date.

This event is related to the preparation for the first launch from the new Russian-Kazakhstan space complex "Baiterek", which is scheduled for the last decade of December this year.

The exact launch date will be announced closer to December.

Soyuz-5 is a promising Russian two-stage medium (semi-heavy) class carrier rocket. It is being developed by the Rocket and Space Corporation Energia.

On March 13, 2025, a prototype of the first stage of the Soyuz-5 carrier rocket was sent to the Scientific Testing Center of the Rocket and Space Industry for cold and hot stand tests.
