At Oryol State University named after I. S. Turgenev (OSU named after I.S. Turgenev), a new generation of contactless sensors for the aviation industry has been created, which have no direct domestic analogues. The development is based on a Russian specialized microchip.
The sensors have improved reliability and accuracy in determining the distance to metal surfaces. The basis of the sensor is a microchip that will provide correction of internal parameters in order to minimize the resulting error in measuring the distance to a metal object. The microassembly is designed for installation in inductive-type metal proximity detection sensors.
The sensors were developed in collaboration with JSC "Aviaavtomatika" named after V. V. Tarasov. As part of the project, a fully domestic component base was created.
The uniqueness of this development lies in the fact that today there are practically no domestic proximity sensors as a class on the aircraft construction market, which are used in aircraft landing gear systems, in doors, and in wing tilt systems.
The implementation of the project will close the existing needs of the domestic aircraft industry in proximity sensors and will create the basis for entering the international market with competitive products.
