The Amur Aviation Center has received a new Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter. The aircraft was manufactured at the Kazan Helicopter Plant, which is part of the Russian Helicopters holding. After a successful flight, the helicopter landed at the airfield of the Svobodnensky branch.
The helicopter will officially join the airbase's staff after the corporate livery of the Russian Aerial Forest Protection Service is applied. Only after these procedures are completed will the aircraft be fully ready to perform its tasks in the region.
The press service of the Russian Helicopters holding reminded that the Mi-8MTV-1 modification represents a modern development of the legendary platform. The design of the machine allows it to effectively serve in the most difficult climatic and geographical conditions.
The purpose of this type of rotorcraft covers a wide range of tasks. In addition to monitoring and extinguishing forest fires, the helicopter can be used to transport passengers and cargo. The list of capabilities also includes search and rescue operations, evacuation of victims, and fire fighting.
