The new Russian aircraft MC-21 and SJ-100 will be able to accelerate up to 850 km/h. This was announced by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific Director of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after N. E. Zhukovsky (TsAGI), Sergei Chernyshev.
Our industry is completing the testing phase of modern civil aircraft Superjet 100 and MC-21, which will soon begin transporting passengers. Flight speeds will be around 850 km/h.
According to him, in the future, to reduce travel time across the country, a supersonic liner is needed. With its help, the flight from Moscow to Vladivostok will take about four hours.
Chernyshev noted that with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, a reduced-size flight demonstrator of technologies called "Strizh" is being developed. The main task of the demonstrator is to ensure that key technologies, both in the field of airframe creation and in the development of effective aerodynamics, meet the expectations of engineers.
Earlier www1.ru reported that import-substituted SJ-100 aircraft have completed half of the certification program.
