Specialists from "Yakovlev" (part of the United Aircraft Corporation) modified the cabin of nine SSJ-100 aircraft of the "Rossiya" airline, converting them to a 100-seat configuration. The work was carried out at the Yakovlev aviation technical complex in Zhukovsky.
The project was launched in the middle of last year and fully implemented within the stated timeframe. All nine SSJ-100 aircraft participating in the program were converted to a 100-seat configuration.
In the context of the cessation of supplies of imported components for the cabin reconfiguration, specialists from Yakovlev, UAC-Engineering, and Aviation Interiors refined the aircraft's interior elements and developed new design solutions.
The joint project with Rossiya Airlines is further proof that the customer dictates the requirements, and we, as the manufacturer, always meet them. I would like to note that the conversion of the SSJ-100 aircraft was possible even under unprecedented sanctions restrictions thanks to the professionalism of the entire project team.
Yan Burg, General Director of Rossiya Airlines, added that the engineers approached the project as a large-scale, technically and organizationally complex task.
For us, as an air carrier, the implemented reconfiguration of part of the fleet means even greater fleet flexibility, since for a certain type of transportation it is more appropriate to use aircraft with a single-class "Economy" configuration – 100 seats, instead of a two-class configuration – 12 seats in "Business" class and 75 – "Economy".
