Specialists of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant have prepared the 73055 aircraft of the MC-21 airliner, which has undergone modification with partial replacement of imported equipment with domestic equipment, for its first flight. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Mechanization of the Wing".
All obstacles to resuming flights of this experimental aircraft have been eliminated. It's a small matter: the approval of related industries.
MC-21 is a new generation medium-range passenger aircraft with a capacity of 163 to 211 passengers. The airliner is assembled at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. The first flight took place on May 28, 2017, and on December 15, 2020, the aircraft made its first flight with the Russian PD-14 engine.
Also, the newest airliner received 10 parameters that increase flight safety, including angle of attack, overload, speed, and Mach number.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the MC-21-300 aircraft consumes twice as less kerosene than the Tu-154M.
