Specialists of the United Engine Corporation (UEC) have created dozens of the latest innovative technologies in the development of PD-14 and PD-35 engines.
The company explained that the industry needs critical technologies – innovative, unique and, of course, completely domestic, so that new power plants are more economical and reliable.
For example, 16 critical technologies were developed for the PD-14 engine, and 20 for the PD-35 high-thrust engine — critical technologies and the latest materials.
Such technologies are created in industry research institutes, including the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) of the Kurchatov Institute National Research Center, UEC added.
The PD-35 project was launched in 2016 at the Rybinsk-based Saturn and the Perm-based Aviadvigatel, which are part of the United Engine Corporation (UEC). The PD-35, which features increased thrust up to 35 tons (16 tons more than the PD-14), will be the most powerful Russian aircraft engine.
PD-14 is the first domestic serial engine for medium-range aircraft. The unit will be used on the new MS-21 aircraft. It is known that the PD-14 weighs 2,870 kg and has a thrust of 14 thousand kgf in take-off mode.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a new production of nozzle guide vanes for gas turbine engines was launched in Russia.
