Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak at a meeting with students in Sirius revealed data on Russian oil reserves. According to him, proven oil reserves in the country are 15 billion tons, and taking into account those not yet prepared for production, about 31 billion tons. At the current production level, this will last for 62 years.

Today, our country ranks fourth in terms of oil reserves.
Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation

Only Iraq, Iran and Saudi Arabia with reserves of 19 to 41 billion tons are ahead of Russia in terms of "black gold" volumes.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that 62 years is not the final term. Every year, new volumes are put on the balance sheet through geological exploration and drilling. The main task, according to him, is to keep the reserve availability at the level of 30–50 years.

The head of Rosnedra, Oleg Kazanov, previously noted that there will be enough oil in Russia for any period of time, provided that subsoil users are active in geological exploration and reserve reproduction.
