The average price of spare parts and consumables for cars in Russia has increased by 26% over the year to 1,515 rubles. At the same time, the cost of maintenance services decreased by 17% to 1,330 rubles. These data are contained in a study by the Kontur business ecosystem, whose analysts studied 40 million checks from auto stores and workshops throughout the country, comparing the periods from January 15 to February 15, 2025 and 2026.

Analysts explain the increase in prices for spare parts not only by inflation and the complexity of logistics, but also by an increase in demand: Russians are increasingly abandoning the purchase of new cars and prefer to service existing ones, which continue to age. The reverse trend with maintenance is associated with a change in the structure of the car fleet - Western and Japanese cars are gradually being replaced by Chinese and domestic ones, which are cheaper to maintain. In addition, many Chinese cars are still new and do not require maintenance for the first four years, which further reduces the demand for the service.

The regional dynamics, however, diverge from the overall picture. In Moscow and the region, spare parts rose in price the most - by 35%, while maintenance increased by only 4%. In the Krasnodar Territory, both indicators changed approximately the same: plus 20% and plus 21%, respectively. The Sverdlovsk region stands out from the general trend - there spare parts fell in price by 8%, and maintenance rose in price by 6%. The Rostov region showed a paradoxical result: both spare parts and maintenance became more affordable - by 2% and 39%, respectively.

The research data echoes a broader picture of the market: according to a survey by Rosgosstrakh and Auto.ru, almost half of Russian car owners are thinking about changing cars due to the high cost of maintenance, but do not yet have the opportunity to do so. The increase in prices for spare parts only reinforces this vicious circle.
