If a person received a transfer from an unknown person, the Ministry of Internal Affairs advises not to start correspondence with them and not to try to return the money themselves. Such actions can lead to the person being involved in a scheme to withdraw stolen funds. Details were disclosed by the press service of the department.
Also, do not return the received amount yourself through the bank's mobile application or by transfer using details that an unknown person dictated by phone or sent in correspondence. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in this way fraudsters can use the recipient in a scheme to withdraw stolen money.
In addition, law enforcement officers advise not to follow links from strangers and not to enter personal or banking data on third-party websites.
Do not engage in long conversations and correspondence with a stranger, do not fall for their tricks.
If a transfer from an unknown sender unexpectedly arrived on the card, you should immediately contact your bank and report the incident. You should indicate the amount, date of transfer, sender's data, and the last digits of the card. After that, the bank will contact the sender's bank itself and initiate the refund procedure.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs recommends blocking the stranger's contact. However, you do not need to delete the correspondence with them – it should be saved, as well as the correspondence with the bank.
