Telegram may get a full-fledged news feed that will allow users to view channel publications in a separate section. The unusual feature was discovered in the beta version of the messenger for macOS, according to the Telegram channel "Backdoor". The main innovation is the division of content into familiar subscriptions and personalized recommendations.
It is assumed that the feed will consist of two categories. In the first, users will be able to view publications from channels they are already subscribed to. The second will contain recommended posts, selected based on user interests. Thus, it will not be necessary to subscribe to a channel in advance to get acquainted with new content.
If the feature is launched, it could significantly change the promotion of channels in Telegram. Currently, their audience largely depends on existing subscribers, reposts, and advertising. Personalized recommendations could potentially allow authors to find new readers directly through the messenger interface.
It is not yet known how exactly the recommendations will be formed, when the innovation will become available to users, or whether it will appear in the stable version of Telegram. There has been no official announcement of the new feed from the developers at the time of publication.
