After undergoing scheduled docking and inspection by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, the passenger and cargo vessel "Admiral Nevelskoy" has returned to service on the Korsakov — Kuril Islands route. The work, completed in November 2025, included a comprehensive check of the ship's systems and hull repair operations.
The vessel was built in 2020 at the Nevsky Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (ОСК), and is considered the lead vessel in the PV22 project series. The architectural concept of the ferry is based on the Arctic rescue vessel project MPSV07, which provides it with increased ice проходимость and improved maneuverability — particularly important qualities for operation in the Far East.
The "Admiral Nevelskoy" can accommodate up to 146 passengers in 38 cabins, including three specialized cabins for mothers with children and one adapted for people with limited mobility. The ship also has a medical unit and a restaurant for 74 people. In addition to passengers, the ferry can carry general cargo, containers (including refrigerated ones), and cars, making it a versatile transport link in the logistical chain of the Kuril Islands.
