Three regional Il-114-300 aircraft have entered mass production in Russia, Rostec announced.
The state corporation noted that the Il-114-300 model is in the final stage of flight certification tests.
Three serial production aircraft are currently in production.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated at a combined Direct Line and press conference on December 19 that the country needs aircraft for regional transportation.
The Il-114-300 is a modernized version of the Il-114 turboprop aircraft, which will replace the outdated An-24, as well as foreign Bombardier Dash 8 and ATR72 aircraft.
Independent aviation expert Alexei Zakharov warned that the mass production of the Il-114-300 could be associated with problems due to an un налаженной цепочки поставок комплектующих.
