The Russian S-500 Prometheus anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) is considered unique due to its single command control center, according to military expert Yuri Knutov. There is no such station in similar complexes of previous generations.
He clarified that the command post is divided into two directions — anti-missile and anti-aircraft parts.
There is a station that works on anti-missile targets, can work on ballistic targets and even on space satellites. This is the anti-missile part.
In addition, the anti-aircraft part operates separately, capable of even destroying fighters with "stealth" technology.

Earlier it became known that the first regiment with the S-500 Prometheus SAM system has taken up combat duty. The head of the Ministry of Defense, Andrei Belousov, noted that the complex is capable of hitting targets even in near space.
