The prospective engine for operational-tactical aviation 177C is capable of increasing thrust over 14.5 tons if the requirements for the operating life are reduced. This was reported in the United Engine Corporation (UEC).
The UEC reminded that the power plant's operating life is currently 6,000 hours.
With reduced requirements for the operating life, a further increase in its thrust is possible.
In the basic configuration, the thrust is 14.5 tons, while the engine's operating life is tripled compared to the previous generation. This significantly extends its service life.
Fuel consumption in all modes is reduced by 7%. This reduces operating costs and increases the aircraft's flight range. The engine provides increased power consumption to power the electronic systems of modern aircraft.
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov, in an interview with «Первый технический», suggested that the new Russian supersonic aircraft may receive the 177C engine.
