The prospective engine for operational-tactical aviation 177S is capable of increasing thrust to over 14.5 tons if the service life requirements are reduced. This was reported in the United Engine Corporation (UEC).
The UEC recalled that the power plant's service life is currently 6,000 hours.
With reduced service life requirements, it is possible to further increase its thrust.
In the basic configuration, the thrust is 14.5 tons, while the engine life is tripled compared to the previous generation. This significantly extends its service life.
Fuel consumption in all modes is reduced by 7%. This reduces operating costs and increases the aircraft's flight range. The engine provides increased power consumption to power the electronic systems of modern aircraft.
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov, in an interview with «Первым техническим», suggested that the new Russian supersonic aircraft may receive the 177S engine.
