The company "Si Project" handed over the unmanned boat "Orkan" to the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M. V. Lomonosov (NArFU). The handover took place in front of the main building of the university.
Today, we are opening a new page in the development of scientific research focused on the Arctic. This boat will become a key tool for the introduction and development of new technologies that can radically change not only the fate of our university, but also the future of the entire region.
The use of unmanned boats will reduce the cost of maintaining traditional vessels. This will lead to a reduction in the cost of transport services and increase the profitability of transportation.
"Orkan" is also planned to be used for monitoring the state of aquatic ecosystems. This will make it possible to control the state of water bodies and minimize the negative impact on the natural environment in such ecologically vulnerable areas as the Arctic. The boat is also being considered as a basic platform for creating marine robotic systems.
Technical characteristics of the unmanned boat "Orkan":
- Length — 5.7m
- Width — 1.7 m
- Displacement — 0.8 m³
- Payload — up to 1 ton
- Speed — up to 40 knots (approximately 74.1 km/h)
- Range — up to 600 km.
The "Orkan" boat is equipped with a control system using artificial intelligence technology. It operates in remote and autonomous control modes, as well as in mixed mode.
