The fully import-substituted MC-21-310 medium-range aircraft will begin flight tests in the near future. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov.
The machine is undergoing checks at the flight test complex and will soon join the flight test program.
It is worth noting that Sergey Chemezov, the head of Rostec, at a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, announced the first flight of the import-substituted MC-21 back in August 2025. He also noted that the certification flights would be completed by the end of 2026, after which mass production will begin.
MC-21-310 is the basic version of the MC-21 family of aircraft developed by PJSC Yakovlev (part of the Rostec United Aircraft Corporation). The airliner will be able to carry up to 211 passengers to a range of up to 5100 km, the maximum commercial load is 21.3 tons.
In July 2025, at the Zhukovsky airport, the operation of onboard radio-electronic equipment was tested on the MC-21 with domestic units and systems. The aircraft spent 3.5 hours in the air.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia is launching a new production of parts for the MC-21 and SJ-100.
