Specialists of PJSC "Yakovlev" have duplicated every system of the MC-21 aircraft. This was announced by Nikolai Fonurin, Deputy Head of the Flight Test and Refinement Complex for Civil Aviation Technology.
He noted that, for example, the landing gear system received two or three backups at once.
For example, fuel pumps - there are several of them, so that in case of failure, ensure a safe continuation of the flight. But if suddenly all the fuel pumps fail, each engine has its own pumps that provide gravity feed of fuel and power the engine with fuel.
Fonurin added that the MC-21 will be able to fly or take off even with one working engine. This type of testing is called "continued takeoff."
An imitation of the failure of one of the engines is underway, when the pilot makes a decision to take off with a subsequent turn and fuel consumption. The MC-21 was built with a high level of safety, reliability and comfort. It provides the crew with pleasure from the flight.
To obtain a type certificate for the MC-21, it is planned to makeabout 220-230 test flights, explained earlier the chief designer of the aircraft, Vitaly Naryshkin.
Earlier www1.ru reported that ODK will provide round-the-clock maintenance of PD-8 and PD-14 for airlines.
