Russia has achieved significant progress in domestic aviation engine manufacturing, and the PD-14 aircraft engine is better than global standards. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin.
According to him, the country has not seen such success in the field of aviation engine manufacturing for a long time.
We made the PD-14. There hasn't been anything like it since Soviet times. I don't even remember what year the last engine was. It seems to me it was the late 1980s. And we made a new engine. Simply excellent. Not just meeting global standards, but better.
The head of state added that only four countries in the world, besides Russia, make engines similar to the PD-14.
The official website of the United Engine Corporation states that among the key advantages of the power plant is a reduction in operating costs of more than 15% compared to global counterparts, as well as compliance with modern and future ICAO environmental requirements.
The PD-14 engine is designed for installation on new MS-21-310 airliners.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia will invest 765 billion rubles in the project "Production of airplanes and helicopters".
