Rostec has opened a unique aluminum casting center at the Ufa enterprise "ODK-UMO". The new center will produce castings from aluminum alloys for serial and advanced aviation and industrial engines.
The plant's capacity will allow producing up to 375 tons of casting per year and will fully meet the needs of all UEC enterprises, the state corporation noted.
The key competence of the center is a unique low-pressure casting technology. It allows producing high-quality, thin-walled (up to 3.5 mm) and lightweight castings of complex shape.
Castings for the most modern power plants for MC-21 and Superjet liners, Ansat helicopters, as well as for industrial engines will be produced here. Investments in the project exceeded 9 billion rubles. The center's capacity will allow producing up to 375 tons of casting per year.
The center's products will be used in the latest PD-14 aircraft engines for MC-21, PD-8 for Superjet, PD-35 high-thrust engines, VK-2500, VK-650V, VK-1600V helicopter engines and AL-31ST and AL-41ST-25 industrial engines.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the import-substituted MC-21 aircraft successfully tested radio-electronic equipment.
