A new infrastructure fee from airlines for the reconstruction of airports will help air harbors earn money, but carriers will shift the additional costs to passengers. This opinion was expressed by aviation expert Roman Gusarov.
The State Duma earlier adopted a law introducing an infrastructure fee from airlines for the reconstruction of airports. The funds will be used for the construction reconstruction of air transport infrastructure facilities.
Gusarov explained that this is being done to increase the share of income that the airports themselves receive from carriers. However, there are still many points that are not yet fully understood.
The Ministry of Transport spoke about some single percentages from legal entities that are engaged in transportation, but they will in any case shift the responsibility to the consumer. This means that air tickets for passengers will become more expensive by 1-2%, but only in large cities. When you maintain an airport in the Moscow region with millions of passengers, you can take three kopecks from everyone and not lose anything, but when you only have 10 thousand people a year, then million-dollar fees will have to be divided among them.
