Localization of KamAZ K5 trucks reached 70%

Cabin, frame and 80% of engine components are already produced in Russia

Localization of KamAZ K5 generation trucks continues to grow and has already reached 70%. The company announced this during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025.

For comparison: at the time of termination of cooperation with Daimler, this figure was only 30%, and the Russian added value was mainly limited to the assembly of the car.

Now the situation has changed dramatically. Key components — the cabin and the frame — are fully produced in Russia, and the degree of engine localization is 80%. Front axles are assembled in Naberezhnye Chelny, while work on localization of rear axles continues. The level of localization, measured by a special scoring system, has grown from 3500 to 4700 and continues to grow.

This progress has allowed KamAZ to confidently maintain its position in the market even in the face of increased competition from Chinese manufacturers. The K5 family of trucks, including the flagship KamAZ-54901 model, is equipped with its own cabins and a number of domestic components.
