The Arbitration Court of the Arkhangelsk Region ordered the Sevmash enterprise to pay more than 61 million rubles in debt for negative environmental impact for 2022. This was reported by the press service of Rosprirodnadzor.
Specialists of the supervisory authority found that when calculating the fee for discharges of pollutants into water bodies, Sevmash unreasonably applied a reduction factor of 0.5 to a number of indicators, which led to an underestimation of the payment amount.
Prior to that, the Supreme Court considered the service's arguments to be reasonable, the enterprise's application of the coefficient 0.5 unlawful, overturned the decisions of the courts of three instances, and sent the case for a new trial. Sevmash paid the debt.
As a reminder, the Sevmash plant is part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation. It builds submarines of projects 955A "Borei-A" and 885M "Yasen-M".
Russian President Vladimir Putin reported in July 2025 that it is planned to build six nuclear submarines at Sevmash within five years.
