Strength test: EMERCOM will intercept the broadcast of TV channels throughout Russia on March 4

The agency will conduct a large-scale test of alert systems

In all regions of Russia on Wednesday, March 4, a large-scale planned test of the operation of public alert systems will take place. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations on its official website.

Russians, upon hearing the sound of a siren, should remain calm. They are advised to turn on any publicly available channel on the TV and then listen to the information message.

During the test, electric sirens and loudspeakers will be activated, and the broadcast of national mandatory public TV and radio channels will be replaced.

The agency added that alert system checks are carried out regularly. Such measures are necessary to ensure the operability of all elements of the system and increase the readiness of duty services to respond.

The previous check took place in October last year. The alarm was for training purposes and there was no cause for concern.
