The new dock pontoon "Amurets" (technical fleet vessel of project 65911), which is being built at the Amur Shipbuilding Plant, has started mooring trials in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The tests will last until the end of June, the press service of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) reported.
The company's specialists will have to test five systems of the dock pontoon – immersion and surfacing systems, ballast purging, monometry, and hull strength.
Amur shipbuilders have already checked the tightness of the empty vessel's hull. Then they will load a 188-ton dock support device onto the slipway deck to perform a trial dive.
"Amurets" is designed to transport ships and vessels under construction and repair from the plant's dry docks to the outfitting pier. It can also be used for launching.
Project 65911 was developed by the "Almaz" Design Bureau and is being built as part of the USC docking program. It is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
