The Irkutsk Aviation Plant (IAP) has updated equipment in the workshops before the start of serial production of the MC-21 aircraft. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Notes of Aircraft Builders".
In workshops 226 and 227, five "Proton T250" machines have already been put into operation, and commissioning works are underway on the remaining 11 machines.
As part of the preparation for the serial production of the MC-21, the main needs for machine tools in these workshops can be considered closed. We are waiting for the start of manufacturing "combat" nomenclature on all equipment.
Also in workshop 227, the connection and commissioning of two new lathes are underway. The models are equipped with an indexing chuck, which has the ability to rotate the workpiece inside itself at a specified angle.
Nine milling processing centers designed for the manufacture of parts from titanium and steel will be installed in workshops 201, 217 and 269.
In workshop 221, preparatory work for the installation of two milling centers will start in the near future. In workshop 217, three turning and milling machines will be put into operation in September 2025.
Earlier www1.ru reported that UAC revealed the purpose of the flap track fairings on aircraft.
