Russia's most powerful gas turbine in history, the GTE-300 with a capacity of 300 MW, has reached the conceptual design stage. This was announced by Alexey Podkolzin, head of "Silovye Mashiny" company.

According to him, negotiations on demand for the unit have already begun with potential buyers.

In principle, the conceptual design of the GTE-300 is already underway. And I think we understand how to make such a machine.

Presumably, a prototype of the GTE-300 could be built within 7 years, and the horizon for the start of serial production is up to 9 years.

The GTE-300 is being developed to replace heavy gas turbine units with a capacity of 250 to 300+ MW, which were supplied to Russia by world leaders in power engineering. These include Siemens, General Electric, Ansaldo Energia, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
