Huge Turbine Parts Plant Worth 1 Billion Rubles Opened in Chelyabinsk

Domestic materials and raw materials are used in the production of the "Konar" product line

The Konar Industrial Group has launched a new line in Chelyabinsk for the production of turbine casing parts for thermal, gas turbine, nuclear, and hydroelectric power plants. This was reported by the Industrial Development Fund (IDF).

More than 1 billion rubles were invested in the project, of which 800 million rubles were provided by the IDF in the form of a concessional loan. After reaching the design capacity, the production of such parts will increase by 10 times, said Roman Petrutsa, Director of the Fund.

The group is developing the production of components for the oil and gas industry, foundry blanks, and large-sized forgings for various engineering industries.

The company purchased 18 units of high-tech equipment with borrowed funds, including metalworking centers and machine tools, as well as an installation for automatic surfacing of parts. The customers of turbine casing parts are the largest Russian power engineering enterprises.

The development of domestic technologies and equipment has become one of the key areas of Russia's Energy Strategy until 2050. However, there are several obstacles to bringing their share to 90%, explained the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.
