Since 2022, Rostec enterprises have restored the airworthiness of 12 aircraft that were previously decommissioned. Among them are Tu-204, Tu-214, An-148 and Il-96-400T.
The state corporation noted that most of the aircraft have already been returned to service and handed over to customers. For example, two Il-96-400T cargo aircraft, as well as Tu-204 and Tu-214, were transferred to SkyGates.
The remaining Tu-204s will be delivered to operators in 2026-27. The aircraft are equipped with new equipment in accordance with the requirements of customers and current federal aviation regulations.
The restoration process required separate unique work on the complete import substitution of individual components.
The Russian aviation industry needs global administrative changes, noted Honored Pilot Oleg Smirnov. According to him, the personnel policy in the aviation industry has led to the fact that incompetent people end up in power, which harms the development of the sphere.
