At the first stage, specialists will conduct a comprehensive check of equipment, components and systems. The locomotive will make a test run of 5 thousand kilometers at a speed of up to 120 km/h. This is necessary to assess the operation of brake systems, electromagnetic compatibility and equipment interaction in the electric locomotive.

The second stage of testing includes checking the electric locomotive for compliance with traction and energy, thermal and dynamic strength indicators. Specialists will also conduct lighting and sanitary-hygienic tests, assess the maintenance of specified temperatures in the cabin and test fire extinguishing systems.

Orlec became the second electric locomotive in the line of new products of Ural Locomotives. Its load capacity is 42% higher than that of previous generation machines. The locomotive can haul trains weighing up to 7,100 tons in a two-section version and up to 9,000 tons in a three-section version.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Sinara Group started testing nine main components for the new train.
