UEC Purchased Chinese Machine Tools for Su-57 and MC-21 Engine Production for 2.7 Billion Rubles

Court Declared the Deal Legal

United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec State Corporation) won a dispute with the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) and secured recognition of the legality of purchasing Chinese vertical turning lathes for 2.7 billion rubles. This follows from the ruling of the Ninth Arbitration Court.

The equipment is intended for enterprises that produce engines for the Su-57 and MC-21 — UEC-Saturn and UEC-UMPO.

The court declared illegal the order of the FAS, issued after a complaint from the company "Superwave Group," which did not pass the selection.

Recall that the dispute began because of the UEC requirement that participants in the procurement were obliged to confirm the successful execution of at least two contracts for the supply of similar machines for an amount exceeding 135 million rubles.

"Superwave Group" complained that this condition violates fair competition. The FAS supported the company, and then the first court instance also recognized the purchase as violating the rules.

However, the appeal sided with UEC. The court decided that the requirement of supply experience is commensurate with the volume of the purchase — 245 million yuan, or 2.7 billion rubles — and ensures the execution of the contract on time and without technological risks.

It should be noted that the machine tools are purchased for enterprises fulfilling strategic orders. UEC-UMPO produces engines for Su-57 fighters and is working on the PD-14 for the MC-21-310 medium-range airliner.

UEC-Saturn is responsible for a number of gas turbine and aviation programs. The new equipment will speed up the processing of large parts and ensure the stability of critical production chains.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the new monster tractor at Baikal Airport will pull even the MC-21, Tu-204, and Boeing 737.
