The Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) will annul the air operator certificate of Angara Airlines for commercial air transportation from November 5. This was reported by the agency's press service.
The decision was made to ensure flight safety, based on the act of an unscheduled inspection by the MTU Rostransnadzor for the Siberian Federal District.
Angara's fleet includes An-24/26 aircraft, which operate flights on 11 routes:
- Khabarovsk — Zeya
- Khabarovsk — Tynda
- Irkutsk — Erbogachen
- Irkutsk — Kirensk
- Nizhneangarsk — Ulan-Ude
- Taksimo — Ulan-Ude
- Chara — Chita
- Irkutsk — Bodaibo
- Irkutsk — Nizhneangarsk
- Irkutsk — Chara
- Khabarovsk — Okhotsk
The carrier plans to operate flights until November 1. Passengers who have purchased tickets for flights after this date will receive a full refund. They were also offered to rebook tickets for flights of other airlines: Iraero, Aurora, and Khabarovsk Airlines.
An-24 crash in the Amur Region
At the end of July 2024, an An-24RV aircraft of Angara Airlines crashed while approaching for landing at Tynda Airport in the Amur Region. There were 42 passengers and 6 crew members on board. No one survived the crash.
The aircraft was manufactured by the Kyiv Aviation Plant in 1976. The An-24RV was part of the fleet of several carriers, including Kurskavia, Izhavia. Since 2021, the aircraft has been operated by Angara.
