The United Engine Corporation (UEC), part of Rostec, will present its new fifth-generation 177S aircraft engine for combat aircraft, created using advanced Russian technologies, at the 19th International Aviation Exhibition in Dubai.
The 177S engine, capable of developing a thrust of 142 kN, has received an afterburner and has been modified to increase its stealth capabilities.
Particular attention is paid to the design of the flat nozzle, which plays a key role in reducing both the effective scattering area (ESA) and the infrared signature of the aircraft. By changing the characteristics of the exhaust stream, the two-dimensional nozzle provides more efficient heat dissipation and a harmonious fusion of the gas flow with the contours of the aircraft, which significantly complicates its detection by enemy systems.
As noted in the corporation, the new Russian aircraft engine surpassed Western counterparts in a number of key characteristics.
Earlierwww1.ru reported that the PD-8 aircraft engine should breathe new life into domestic aircraft with foreign engines.
